Everybody needs answers. Here are a sample of common questions we've been asked recently.
What makes you different from other web design agencies?
Good question, we like to think we offer more than just building you a beautiful website. One thing we've learned in the last 10 years is websites are not a product you buy and then forget about. They need looking after, they need to grow, to mature and flourish. We don't sell you a website, we sell you a service. Yes, we buy your domain, we set up the hosting, we design and build the site, we do all of that but more importantly we're there for you afterwards and for as long as you need us. We don't ask for money up front or a big lump sum when the site is finished - in fact, when your site goes live we like to think it's only just started!
Do you use design templates?
Wherever possible we don't use web templating techniques to design your site. Our professional web design team would always rather start with a blank piece of paper. We can then take your ideas and mix them with ours to create a stunning website which reflects you or your business perfectly and which we are both very proud of. We love what we do and we hope it shows in our designs.
Is there a minimum term contract?
Yes, the minimum contract is 12 months from your first payment. After this you are free to downgrade to a ‘hosting only’ deal, however, you will lose all the benefits of the package that you were subscribed to. Most of our clients tend to continue using our service well beyond 12 months due to the fantastic service they receive.
How long does it take to build a website?
If you choose the minimum 'startup' package, we aim to go live within 1 month. Other packages vary from 1-3 months. It really depends on the complexity of your project. Obviously if it's really urgent, we'll pull out all the stops. We have been known to turn around a website in 2 days - but we'd rather take a little more time!
Do I pay any money up front?
No, unlike most web design agencies we don’t ask for up front payments. You only start paying for your website from the day it goes live. Yes, that might sound a little unorthodox but we like to think we're a little different from all the rest.
Will my website be Search Engine Friendly?
When we create websites, we always aim to keep them search engine friendly. We take time to include many background details that will help the search engines locate your site as quickly as possible, and we also add your site to search engines to generate as much coverage as possible. Do not be fooled into paying large sums for so-called "guaranteed" search engine listings. Most search engines work is done by "bots", in other words, non-humans. So it takes a bit of time (about 4 to 8 weeks on average) but we have always found our sites show up very quickly on the most popular search engines.
What about bigger projects with more features?
Yes, we do cater for larger bespoke projects that require more than the standard features contained within the packages. For those projects we always arrange an in depth consultation where we will write a full web design brief. This allows us both to understand the requirements of the project and calculate any additional costs over and above the standard charges.
Are there any hidden costs?
No, what you see is what you pay. If you require additional features that are not available in your package, such as a blog, forum, eNewsletter, social networking, adwords marketing, password protected areas etc, these will be charged additionally as a one off fee before your site goes live. You'll be told up front what those additional costs will be, and we promise that's all you'll pay.
What happens if I don't like the designs you create for me?
We don't progress beyond the design concept stage until you are 100% happy with the design. If you decide further down the road you don't like something, fine, we'll change it, no big deal. We want you to be happy with your design and if you're happy, we're happy!
